Always the Lake

You oughta hear this great band. (12/18, 7 PM) We've worked up one of my old songs languishing in the files: Always the Lake. It's one I wrote for Scrapmettle SOUL but never performed myself. Amy helped me do some new arranging and turned it into a rockin' anthem to Mother Michigan.

Oh, and the band this weekend is Colby, Gregg, plus Charles Kim on bass and a drummer who hails from my part of the world, David Sims. I really like playing with a drummer from Mississippi. It just works. I don't know. A delta take on a Great Lake. You just need to hear it.

peace
ama

Thanks to everyone who came out to Uncommon Ground this afternoon! We had a record number of babies in the audience. Hope this means they'll all grow up loving fiddle tunes and folk music...

Anyway, thanks, it was fun to see you all and nice to get the support as I return to the "adult" stage. (insert wisecrack here.) I certainly feel at home singing to a roomful of tots.

peace,
Anne-Marie

Yes, it's true. After a 3 year hiatus I'm performing again. Not only that, I rescued my url from cyber-nothingness (long story involving a corporate takeover--you know, the usual folk stuff) and am finally back on the web.

I hope you can make it out to one of these January shows at Uncommon Ground. It's a highly kid-friendly place for the daytime shows.

peace
ama
24 hours to a new beginning for the USA!
